There are alot of bass players way better than Flea. Check out Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke and Tony Levin. They all blow him away!

Start by finding a local place that teaches guitar lessons and the better you get-get a better teacher. Some people can learn by ear too.

Sorry, arturo r, but Flea isn't even the best bassist out there. Les Claypool owns him and everyone else. In fact, Claypool is widely recognized as the best and it's undisputed in the music world. Flea would admit this himself.

get the song tabs from www.911tabs.com and get the base tabs. then practice it. then when you get it down, play the music with the song. after that, get other songs and just practice. then try to learn the song on your own without the tabs. that will help you play better.
