The people who are sensitive get more out of the relationship and experience more than the ones who are not.

Don't change the way you are just because you think that your getting hurt from the way your personality is. Everyone gets hurt sometimes whether there sensitive or not. You shouldn't try and change yourself just because you think that it's going to make life easier for you. There are plenty of people who love having sensitive people around. People like you often make other people feel really good about themselves because you can be open and aren't embarrassed to show emotion some of the time. There's nothing wrong with the way you are and if there weren't sensitive people in the world the world would be a pretty cruel place. Don't change for anyone just be yourself and if people don't like it then that's there problem not yours.

You have to explore the boundaries of your sensitivity.

Is sensitivity the guise in which you cloak anxiety, fear, or perhaps low self-esteem.

If you're truly sensitive, you're open to respect, love, and basically what the world has to offer.

You can look at deeply personal issues of friends and loved one's and truly help them resolve their problems.

I don't think that someone can be overly sensitive. There are no boundaries for understanding and compassion.

If you're being hurt, the problem is that you are too attentive to criticism. You aren't secure in your own skin.

Don't try to repel the world. Don't look to give up your emotions and become insensitive to what the world has to offer.

Work at building up your self-esteem. Use your sensitivity to be aware of when people are complimenting you or appreciating you. Accept what they have to say. People find it hard to respect someone who can't take a compliment.

If you explore your real feelings, and ask yourself some hard questions, I'm sure that you'll realize that being sensitive is not your real problem.

Confronting inner problems is difficult. Oftentimes we want to find simple solutions to complex realities. Becoming unfeeling and lethargic will not help you confront the real world

Being sensitive shows you have compassion and care about people. That is a wonderful trait to have. Even God says "do not cast your pearls before swine"...that part should be self explanatory....some people are worthy of your sensitivity and caring and some are not. You need to be prudent about making choices in friends etc. but you shouldn't let all the rotten apples in life sour you because you are a good person. There are way more good people than lousy ones out there believe you me and you will find your way among them in time as you grow. Get a good education and surround yourself with good friends and you'll be just fine.

Being sensitive is often looked upon in a negative way, but being sensitive allows one to be empathetic toward others. It allows one to have compassion. You are aware of how things make you and others feel.

If you are too sensitive, it can be hurtful because you might be internalizing too much of what others are saying.

Remember that everyone around you carries a LOT of emotional baggage and things that are said to you are said through their filter of baggage.

What that meas is that those things that are hurtful are usually more about them than you. Take that to the bank...

Sensitive people have more compassion then others and it is a very good thing. However to balance yourself you need to not take people too serious all the time. Laugh more with them and don't soak everything up. Life is too short just try and loosen up don't take things to heart that may hurt you. Look at things with an open mind and have fun

The great thing about it is that "sensitives" are not only sensitive about themselves but also about the immediate world around them and other people. They pick up on verbal and non-verbal clues in the environment before the average person. Sensitives often become social workers, pyschologists, counselors, and other members of the helping professions.

You can not make yourself less sensitive anymore than I can make myself more sensitive. Its a part of who you are. I personally don't have much patience with sensitive types-BUT we all have our place in this world.
