It's always sad when two people who were committed to love and be together find they are unable to for whatever reason. The best thing you can do since you have made the decision to leave - is to do it right. Doesn't matter what she did - you do the right thing. Get your finances in order. Apartment hunting and location can be a timely episode. If you are arguing - and you tell her, she might want to throw you out -but she can't. In most states, the law protects husbands and wives. I hope she is not the dramatic type. You could find your tires or windows busted out, cell phone destroyed - anything. So, doing it right means, sitting her down and letting her know. I'm sure you have to discuss financial matters in the home. Do you care if she can or cannot afford to continue to live there? I believe a decent man, no matter what the situation, will not just move out and leave her with all the bills - especially, if she has not been paying all of them. (it would be the same with a man.) Times are just indicative that people should be nicer to each other. You don't want anything bad to happen to her. If there are children in the home, you'll want to make sure you discuss your departure with them. I remember when my ex and I decided not to continue our marriage- he helped me move. We found me a place that I could afford. It was nice. We basically remained friends. We were better as friends. It is so much more peaceful and less stress. Let her know your plans. Be blessed.

I would make sure that you have all of your ducks in a row financially. Divorces suck and they take up a lot of time and money and stress. Yes I would definately find an apartment if you are serious about getting divorced. Then after you get your place just tell her that you need some space to think things over if that is what you are needing to do. good luck

Why are you leaving? It sounds like your mind is made up, and you want to split, do you want the marriage to work? Are you afraid she will talk you out of leaving? Need more info.

I just went through the exact situation. I left, but we talked about it prior to my leaving.

I don't think you should make ANY financial decisions until you consult an attorney...you might want to live alone, but as far as the courts are concerned, money and assets still belong to the both of you. unless you have a pre nup, that is.

Yes, if your absolutely positively sure that you want to leave her. What's the use of a threat if there is no follow through...then she won't ever know when to believe you if your serious.

Before, because the divorce will take up all your time.
Not sure why you are leaving. Living alone is NEVER better than living with someone. Even if you argue.
