50/50 vinegar and water, or ammonia and water. Either will take off all the pop and gunk that builds up around the cupholders.

The vinegar and water is probably ok, I would not use amonia on anything I wanted to keep as original. One thing that is very good and wont harm the plastics is to by SCRUBS OR something similar. This is simply a cloth like material that uses natural orange citris ,,,,, cleans good no nasty residue and clean smell. Would never use armor all It will actually damage plastic and especialy vinyl over time.

You could try using a little baking soda in the water (test an inconspicuous spot first, to ensure there'll be no spots or discolouration).
If the cup holder is plastic, you may want to try a little ArmorAll cleaner. Make sure you don't get any on the steering wheel or the pedals; stuff's slippery!!

Windex works good for soda...if you want to get the dust off of the dash, then buy a 2 dollar Tack Cloth from Walmart and use it daily...I do.
