Dude, jeez...
most anime soundtracks are... honestly, pretty gay. However, the series "Samurai Champloo" is a notable exception, simply because it features a lot of music (and the opening theme) by one of my favorite DJ's, this japanese cat called Nujabes who makes a lot of nu-jazz/ hip-hop with American MC's and vocalists. You should definitely check his stuff out.
The only other anime that has inspired some music that your non-otaku friends won't ragg the hell out of you about is Cowboy Bebop. I recommend you do a torrent search for the complete discography, and from there cull the tracks that you like - its got a lot of really cool modernest jazz on it, which may not be your cup of tea, but there's no argument that it is solid, good music.

To find the song u want, try doing a search on Limewire.
You can also listen to aol xm radio: http://music.aol.com/radioguide/bb.adp?suppressRadio=true It has an anime station (in the section under soundtracks) and it also has a j-pop station.

d/l limewire user up there have a lot of J-pop stuff and Anime music

i'd recommend Raiko, Orange Range, Dragon Ash, Yokko Anno, Maaya Sakamato, Namie Armuro, Rie Fu, and some other but its slipping my mind.
But yeah Limewire really good.
