quote from steve perry
Q: So many bands are reuniting and touring. Do you ever see yourself reuniting with Journey and doing a tour?
SP: Since May 8, 1998 we have been officially and legally no longer together. I'm fairly convinced we've gone our separate ways. I also know that nothing will ever take away the magic times and the music we made...... while we were together!

Steve has expressed interest in putting a band together, but, unfortunately, it won't be with Journey. Jeff Scott Soto is the new leader singer for the band now. Steve felt there was a lot he had to "let go of", and it remains a "mystery" when he'll return to performing again. I too am a big fan of Journey's music and I think Steve Perry has the ultimate rock voice ever!

I gotta agree with Karl and Magic on this one! Most every band had that one piece or two of their puzzle that they have to rearrange or replace in order to become successful! Look at Black Sabbath,at one point they were a 6 piece band(in addition to the core 4 members, they also had a bottle neck guitar player and sax player),but once they got rid of the other 2 guys, look where their career went! Look what happened to The Beatles after they got rid of Pete Best in August of 1962,in less than a year they became the biggest band in England with a number 1 album and 3 number 1 singles! While The Who were known as The High Numbers, their drummer was a guy by the name of Doug Sandon(yes I know these kinds of things)and look what happened to them after they got Keith Moon as drummer and changed their name! Look at Fleetwood Mac,hell that band was what lineup changes were all about, but look what happened once they got Stevie and Lindsey in the band. I could go on for awhile, but I hope I made my point! I also agree with what some have said about Evolution, that was a very good album! In fact it has my all time favorite Journey song City of the Angels. The point is that Journey needed Steve Perry to get to that next level in their careers,I think its safe to say that if it wasn't for Steve Perry, people wouldn't know who Journey is! BQ:Supertramp

Mr. Perry suffers from a syndrome called big head little mind disorder. Steve's got it that he's the main draw for the band and wanted more of the take for himself. He Quit over the lack of support for this ...concept.

I think his ego is preventing his return and I mean that literally. I really like his voice also but he's abit full of himself.
