A lot of young people prefer not to watch the Oscars because it can be really long and drawn out at times. But this year may be worth a peek. Lots of young actors (Leo DiCaprio, Will Smith, Jennifer Hudson, etc) could be up for awards. You've seen the movies and heard the buzz. Who would you like to see nominated and why? What movie should get a nod?

I would like Scorsese to get his long awaited Oscar for the Departed.
Kate Winslet - best actress for Little Children
DiCaprio - best actor Blood Diamond
Babel - best film
Little Children best screenplay
Pirates - best musical score, special effects, editing, etc
Volver - best foreign language film
Babel - best cinematography
(Not sure yet on supporting actors. Haven't decided)

Ummm no. Why should we? It's a bunch of white folks kissing each other's @ss about how great they are. It's too white centric for my taste. Not very international, just like their World Series Baseball. It's boring and a joke.

i must admit, i do. don't know why. i hardly ever get to see the films that are nominated. its fun to watch though.
