I am the grand niece, once removed, of the late Karol Józef Wojtyła, also known as Pope John Paul II. My grandmother's cousin was married to his cousin, who, unfortunately and unlike the later pope, was eventually caught and imprisoned in Auchwitz, though he lived.
My ancestors on my mother's side owned the Miracle Mile before they sold it, and my great-great grandfather was the architect of Sagamore Hill, Theodore Roosevelt's residence.
