What will students do more often when they are adults: solve quadratic equations or have sex? OF COURSE schools should teach safe sex practices.
I believe that students should learn "the birds and the bees" and inappropriate touching in elementary school. In late elementary school the girls and boys should be divided and they should be taught about the changes that will happen to their bodies in the future (as puberty is hitting earlier and earlier with each generation). In early high school, students should be taught about safe sex, including contraception, protection from STDs and "emotionally" safe sex. The morals and beliefs of the teacher should not have any part in the students' education.

Parents have their heads up their asses on this issue. Knowing about safe sex not only prevents pregnancy, it also prevents diseases, and that's a public health concern. So no, it should not be up to the parents, who are often (very often) too embarrassed to talk about the birds and the bees. For one thing two forms of contraception are very effective used at the same time. This can include a condom and the pill, or a condom and a spermicide. Teens do need to be shown how to put condoms on, as the roll at the bottom gets snagged and you've got to be able to unroll it without tearing it. They also have to be the right size. And what could be safer than masturbation? It's safe to watch each other masturbate as well, as it is to use sex toys. It's also totally safe to watch porn, as you're not even touching the intangible people on the screen. 13 year olds have been having sex for thousands of years. Do you really expect that genetic urge to disappear by the use of abstinence teaching?

yes i think schools should teach safe sex practises for many reasons: it would lower pregnancy rate among school kids by ending thousands of myths like
> "u can't get pregnant if u do it in the water or if u do back shot" and many more
> kids are already going at it n experimenting so might as well teach them so they know at least a lil bit of what they're doin and of risky actions, contraceptives and healthy convenient ones
> school is for learning and they teach a whole lot o crap that we really don't need to know already n say that oh we're gonna use it in the future. so why not teach us something they know we really need?
> make them aware of the "getting-to-be" leading killer in the world-HIV/AIDS
> atleast teach something interesting for a change so more kids will stop cutting class then from then on might even gain more science/biology-interested students
> most parents find it hard to talk to their TEENAGE "babies" about sex so they end up not tellin them anything about it and niether does school so who's gonna teach 'em? ans.=they go out n find out for 'em selves
> most people ask why? but i'm askin why not? n some people say if they know more then more of them are gonna go for it (yes that might happen but who's to stop that they are eventually gonna have sex anyways or sum friend says let's go n they go uneducated n unprotected)- atleast when they know sumthing they don't screw up that much or that early-or at all
I SAY TEACH THEM ALL THEY WANT AND NEED TO KNOW, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Most people will tell you that Safe Sex should not be taught at school because kids should "wait until marriage". But I ask all those hypocrits-- how old They were the first time they had any kind of sex (oral, anal, or vaginal)--and was it on their wedding night?
Ok, lets just let all the 15 year old girls have babies that nobody will help them raise, and let all the boys get herpes and HIV to spread all across America.

Absolutely. This information can save lives. There is no clear way for students to get the CORRECT information from peers or even parents on the matter.

well logically yes.but only high school courses because elementary doesn't need to kno and middle is just learning about it. but anywhoooo they do have some video's and speakers that come in and stress the fact that abstinence is the only way to be safe so we shouldn't have to worry about it.

considering that music and tv put a lot of sex out for kids to see, yes they should be taught safe sex. kids get curious and want to know about sex. i would rather that they'er safe and not sorry.
