I write music I'm not a bad singer but I dont have the voice I should have but I love to write music and put words the the music I write so how do I get this music to someone that will play it. Here is a song maybe I just suck.

This clock just keeps rollin and theres
no end in sight so I slip into this
dream just to be with you tonight

I need you by myside I need you here with me
together forever as I slip in to our dream
how long can you wait how long will I be I
am always with you all you have to do is
dream

so here we are now stuck at this place in
time not knowin if this is a dream and prayin
that bell wont chime

Dreamin of you is all I ever do how can I
make it real when can I make you mine so
we can be together until the end of time

As I stair out this window another mile fades away
and it seems so endless that I barley stay awake
but my day dream of you keeps me pushin on
without you by myside I don't want to go on

so here we are now stuck at this place in
time not knowin if this is a dream and prayin
that bell wont chime

This run is almost over theses dreams are almost
through I am comming around the corner
here we are together baby just me and you

Hand out demo tapes to anyone and everyone who will accept one.

if you seriously want to make a living as a songwriter, best bet is to get yourself an agent. Look around for a reputable one, check locally & look online. Put together a portfolio of your music, and even if you're not the greatest singer, maybe put together a demo. Some people say that you just have to know someone, but it's hard to meet those people on your own, an agent will bring them to you!

I've written several tunes and have composed many riffs, lead ins and call and response ,choruses, intros and the band I'm a member of has recently cut our third disk. The local rock station has agreed to play one of our tunes and the D.J. likes our style. Kind of a bluesy/rock/ska bayou funk thing with a driving bass.

There was at one time in the not too distant past a great magazine called " Songwriter Magazine "
If it's not in print then go on the following sites
1- www.ascap.org
2-www.bmi.org
3-www.sesac.org
Failing that , go to your local library and look for any good books on song writers associations.....
Good luck
