Which movie should my friends and I see, We Are Marshall, or the Holiday?

If you need something mindless and cheerful, go to THE HOLIDAY. It's not going to tax you emotionally or mentally or any other way. It's like cotton candy for the mind. In fact, you have to be in the right mood to watch it or it can rot your teeth because it's so UNREAL!! Fluffy fantasy fun!!
On the other hand, WE ARE MARSHALL is gritty and salty, it'll have you crying or at least saddened and subdued. I didn't cry but I felt the people's pain in my gut like a punch, I found myself thinking about a couple of the characters even after the movie was over. It's real, almost too real. Somehow knowing those folks really existed, that the guy playing the man who lost a son was just one of many men who lost a son, that there were so many women who lost sons and husbands, girls who lost boyfriends or brothers.... it was definitely not light fluff and it was inspirational.
So do you want cotton candy, something light and fluffy, or a steak that sticks to your ribs? Only you can decide. Each has it's pluses and minuses. Maybe see both, first the WE ARE MARSHALL then, next time you go, see THE HOLIDAY.

I didn't see the Holiday, but I did see We are Marshall. We are Marshall was a very touching and inspirational movie. It made you think about your life and what you would do in that situation. I got choked up.

Seeing as how I don't care for Jude Law in romance films or Cameron Diaz in any film, I'd say We Are Marshall. But aside from that, they are two totally different films. If you want light-hearted fluff go see The Holiday. If you want to go through a box of tissue, go see We Are Marshall; it's uplifting, but it's very sad, too.

I havent seen we are marshall...hey is that the one with matthew fox in it?! I really wanna go see that...I saw the holiday a couple of weeks ago. it has a really slow start but it gets better towards the middle. there's a little twist and some really sweet moments and its a good girly movie if you're going with your friends :D

well if you like sports movies then we are marshall but if you like romantic comedy than holiday...
i personally would see holiday!

I think for a good inspirational feeling, go see We are Marshall...it doesnt hurt that it has hotties in it as well. Have fun!

The Holiday was amazing I thought. It was a fluff film yes. A romantic comedy yes. But it was a brilliant fantasy that took me away for 2 hours.
The set design was tops and the cinematography pleasing as well. Overall a movie you can watch more than once.
