Fashion/Corporate wise black projects sophistication, think "little black dress" the closet basic. Red however represents passion and power. Go with the feeling you have for each individual time/night. You can always "punch up" a red outfit with black accessories or get a red belt and red shoes for the black outfit.

I always liked wearing all black with just a splash of red somewhere to make it all jump. Try wearing snug fitting black but with a flowing red scarf or something like that.

I generally prefer black. I think it really depends on your skin tone. Unfortunately for me, wearing black makes me look goth [because my skin is so light] but wearing red accentuates my cheeks whenever its warm or I'm embarassed and makes me look like a giant pimple. Putting them together looks really rad... Wait... what kind of red are you thinking of? A deeper red would be much more rad on its own rather than a bright red.
