A person who adopts a pet is still called a person. It doesn't change they're status. They remain a human being. Adopting, or buying, or caring for a pet doesn't change this fact. A person who adopts a pet should still be called a person.

it used to be "owner" and in many places still is. In my area if you adopt a pet, you are their "guardian". Randy Grimm of Stray Rescue" changed the term here for several reasons. the main one is that pets are not disposable. when you adopt, you promise to take care of this animal forever. if you visit his website, you can read all about this and how he got rid of the gas chamber at our city pound. a dog actually survived it! His name is Quentin. Go to www.strayrescue.org. i'm sure you will be pleased.

I say they are called blessed!!!! Pet people are the best people!!!!!
I mean, who else will meet you at the door ,and always get excited to see you? Who else takes you just as you are. Pets don't care if you are short, tall, skinny, fat, ugly, fashionable etc.. They love you, just because you are you!!!!! You can tell all your secrets and they don't blab them out to everyone. They don't care if you get tears on them. They are willing to eat those leftover you don't want to eat. :) Or clean up those spills on the floor. And they don't complain about your cooking. They are willing to die for you and defend you and they trust you completely Pets Rock!!!!!!!
