Near as I can tell...

Dems - moderate positions want greater health care availability for those who don't have it. A safety-net if you will. At extremes, want socialized health insurance. The later is a non-starter as we've seen in other countries, this causes problems.

Repubs-- seems they want to maintain the status quo. That is a non-starter. More and more companies can ill-afford to provide health insurance to their employees.

What we need is a combination of both ideologies to get reasonable health care insurance costs, reduced health care costs and availability/affordability to companies/working people.

WHAT PLAN??!!!
Dims want John Edwards who got rich destroying the doctors and Republicans don't have a clue!

I recommend a Government series of Hospitals/Medical Schools to expand the Military style of health facilities!
For those who can now afford private practice without the added costs associated with all of the freeloaders, private practice will still be available and solvent!

Republicans want to make an investment profit from the sick and elderly by not having to pay for meds and care. The money can be spent better (in Repubs oppinion) by using it to kill and maime in the name of God.
