HI.
Because Satan tempted Eve and caused her to sin and in this act sin and death entered the world. They were made to live forever but messed up. Since then Satan made an accusation before Jehovah saying that we would only serve him for our own selfish desires. We are in like a court and when the point is proven that Satan is a liar (a Good example was Job he endured under major hardship and proved faithful,) Satan will be destroyed and the Earth will be brought back to Jehovah's original purpose before this slight interuption occured, If you want to learn more contact a Jehovah's Witness they will be happy to show you this scripturally.

Because of selfish, inconsiderate, uncaring, spoiled, people who dont care about long term effects or consequences of their actions, and who want everything now. Plus the lack of God in everyones lives.
