A good choice would be our national debt. It is growing very fast. Eventually, it has to be paid back. Currently, almost 1/3 of our budget (and taxes) just goes to paying the interest on the debt.

The biggest problem in this country is the attitude that government will and should and can fix all our problems - and that they have unlimited funds to spend doing it. Our national debt has soared, primarily due to the poorly-managed war in Iraq, as well as tax cuts for the wealthiest 20% of the country. Compounding this is a President who signs legislation, then immediately reverses it with self-serving "Signing Statements".
Until the budget is under control, the Executive Branch cleans up it's act and restores the nation to a positive world-image, and legislation that is passed and signed is ONLY able to be negated by the courts, as our Constitution demands, the country is well on it's way to becoming a fascist dictatorship.

Manufacturing jobs leaving the US. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Soon their will be no decent paying jobs for the average person and the middle class will disappear. Jobs at Wal-Mart and McDonald's will even dwindle since no one will be able to afford to buy anything remotely frivolous.

surely, try the economics section. i think of the reserve ratio could be bigger, that way banks would desire to maintain extra money and private loan out much less, reducing the money grant and elevating the interest value. Or something.
