We haven't even fully celebrated the 12 days of Christmas yet and she's already lost the present you got her? Poor girl. All right, get her another one, but really think carefully before you buy her something more expensive.

How did she loose it? Where was she when she lost it?
I think you should offer to pay an amount which covers or mostly covers the cost of a basic phone and if she wants a more expensive one then she has to cough up the extra. I realize the new phone might be around for a few years, sometimes you might even feel guilty not having splashed out on a really good one, but this is about money, not about feelings. In real life you have to budget, and you decided the first phone was within the budget for spending on her. The second phone isn't, and as such you buying an expensive second phone is just that, too expensive.

If you haven't told the cell phone carrier yet you can call them up and buy the insurance for like $5 a month. Then wait a week. After a weeks gone by call them up and make the claim for the lost phone. Just make sure you tell them it was lost after you get the insurance.
Other wise just buy her a new one, I bet she was totally stoked to get it in the first place and is probably heart broken she lost it.

Call the number and see if anyone answers. I found a phone once, I waited for someone to call and claim it. We met, I gave it back, case closed.
If you do give her another one, tape your name and phone number on it, so if it's lost and found, someone can find you.

No. And next time buy the insurance payments for $3 a month and they'll replace the phone for free. If you're that well off and she's dumb enuf to lose it, please buy me a pink Swarovski crystal Razr and a matching Sidekick while you're at it. P.S. There's some jewelry and clothes and shoes you can pick up for me too.

If she's stupid enough to lose a cell phone, I wouldn't bother with another one.

Maybe you should give her a new cheaper one. She seems to be careless, so tell her to be careful this time :)
