Um, well?
It depends on your body weight and your style of intimacy.
If you are 'lightweights' (like under 150 lbs. each) it would probably be ok, just don't be too hard on it.
My recommendation would be buying the matress for your new bed and using that for a while, until you can afford the nice frame and boxsprings, etc.

I don't think an air mattress is your answer. Those are made to be used occasionally and can be bought for $50 at Wal-Mart.
Consider getting a platform bed that only needs the top mattress and not the box spring. There are lots of discount furniture stores that will sell the mattress to you (full or queen size) for under $200.
Maybe have some of the other family members pitch in cash as their wedding gifts too to put toward the bed.
Good luck and many happy sex filled nights!! (c:

With no real offense to at least 2 answers PLEASE do not get a futon. First of all it's one of the most clumsy pieces of furniture ever made. Second it's horribly uncomfortable to sleep on what passes for cushioning on most futons.
While any horizontal surface is OK for sex, and some standing positions work. Even honeymooners will have to sleep sometime. :)
I suggest the person who stated buy the mattress NOW, has the valid answer. Beyond that, there are dozens of mattress/bedding outlets throughout the planet.
Take the $250 plus ADD to it. I have to believe both you and your soon to be husband intend to contribute something to the marriage beyond sex. Save yer pennies and put them with the $250 when you need the mattress.
I wish you all good for you marriage.

If you are a Yahoo member, which I'm assuming you are if you use Yahoo Answers, then there's a wonderful group called Freecycle. Look for a Freecycle Group in your area under Yahoo Groups. The purpose of the group is to keep things out of landfills - things that one person may think is garbage, but someone else might be able to use. The whole "one person's trash is another person's treasure" way of thinking. I've gotten lots of things through my local Freecycle and I have posted many things as well. If you don't want to meet anyone face to face, you can put items on your porch, etc. and agree on a pickup time, etc. A lot of people post "Curb Alerts" - meaning they've seen usable items in someones garbage and will alert you to the location. You can do the same - say such-and-such item will be on my curb on this date, etc. There are a ton of ways to get rid of items and a ton of ways to receive items. Everyone is really friendly and it's all for a good cause. I hope this helps and I hope there's a Yahoo Freecycle Group in your area. :)

Put the $250.00 towards a new mattress set with a steel frame.
Make payments on the balance. Otherwise you will have wasted the 250.
Congratulations.

Don't waste your money! It will NOT hold up. I/We blew one out in less than a week. You'd be better off buying a cheap mattress or a futon.

I think I will just go with the flow what the current stream of thought as to what I should do. A deflated ego for committing a stupid act like that chould be patched up with some good counselling.

I agree with the person who said buy a mattress and just sleep on the floor. But I would say if you have to purchase a air mattress, handle your business on the floor and then go to sleep on the air mattress. I know it sounds crazy but you have to do what you have to do. Happy Love Making.

Get a futon. The airbeds don't do well if you are vigorous.
