Hi! I posted a question earlier this week about possibly being pregnant. Well, I have been on the pill for 2 years and have been very good about taking it. When I had taken a test, it came out negative. Could the birth control pills hide the pregnancy hormones? Also, I do know that if you have sex during your period, you could get pregnant. Is this true if you have sex during your period while on the pill? I do have a doctor appointment next week, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought! Thanks!

Remember that BC pills are not 100% effective. I would suggest that if you think it's a possibility get a test done and find out for sure. If you are pregnant, you need to stop taking the BC pills immediately as that is a serious risk to the fetus.

Birth control pills ARE pregnancy hormones. That is how they work. They introduce this hormone into your body so that your body thinks it is already pregnant and doesn't release an egg.

It is always possible to get pregnant any time you have sex, but the changes drop incredibly when you are on bc, even during the period week.

conception (pregnancy) occurs during ovulation. a woman does not ovulate during her period. ovulation typically occurs halfway through a woman's cycle. the 14th day of a woman's cycle is the day of ovulation. periods occur during days 21-28. it is possible to become pregnant while on the pill. but this usually is not typical among women who take the pill correctly - that is, everyday at the same time without missing any pills/days. i don't know if the pill can mask a pregnancy, but i doubt it. if you turn out to be pregnant, go off the pill ASAP. hope i helped!
