I am 29 weeks pregnant and my Ultrasound from 28 weeks showed the baby wieghing only 1 3/4lbs in the 34th percentile. Anyone know what that means or any where I could get some more imformation? All I know is that, that is kind of small for 28 weeks

Here is a site that shows averages. Just remember all babies are different. I had one at 41 weeks and she weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces. Then my next was at 36 weeks and he weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces. My third was at 38 weeks and she weighed 8 pounds even. So... even for one woman the weight can be very different. Good luck

There is a book called Pregnancy week by week wrote by Dr. Glade B. Curtis and Judith Schuler MS. That's what I used. At 22 weeks my baby only weighed 1lb. I was sick all the time and I never gained weight, I lost about 15 lbs. the whole time. I don't think it is anything to worry about, if there was something than the doctor would of told you. The book has pictures in it and it tells you how much the baby should weigh and shows a picture of what the baby looks like. The book says that your baby should weigh 2 3/4lbs. so its only 1 lb under. the closer you get to your due date the faster and more weight the baby will gain. good luck.

34th percentile means that your baby weighs as much or more than 34% of other babies at that same gestational age. Don't worry though there is still a lot of time for your baby to grow. My son was about that percentile for most of my pregnancy: he weighed 8 pounds 11 oz at birth!!! Good Luck and Congrats!

From what I've read the average fetal weight for 6 months is 1 1/2 lbs. so it sounds to me like you're baby is a bit bigger. From here on, the baby will rapidly gain weight. I wouldn't worry about, as long as you're consistently putting on weight or at least eating properly, you're baby will be perfectly fine, weight wise. Congratulations and best wishes!

there's nothing to worry about. baby's start putting on weight around 32nd week when the growth of the body is complete and the fat starts to deposit underneath the skin. at ur end u can continue eating healthy and eating lots of protien rich food and fruits and veg.

I wouldnt worry just yet, your lil bundle of joy will do most of its growing the last weeks of your pregnancy, gaining a pound a week.

I would google pregnancy. I found a great site. http://www.pregnancy.org/
They also send you emails and shows you what your baby is doing as far as growth. You can always just ask your doctor?

If you are ever unsure ask your doctor. They can tell you alot better than us here at yahoo answers. They can break it down to where you can understand what they are saying. They are there to help you understand whats going on, don't wory about sounding stupid when asking questions.
