About black persons without being called a racist. Its not racist to have a question or oppinion about a black person. Nor is it racist to disagree with 1.

As a white english person, im starting to think my type cant make a point or an alternative suggestion without being called racist.

Racism does go both ways, if a group of asian youths beat up a white person, its not all that likely to be considered a racist attack, yet the other way round, the race issue is thought of as worse than the assault.

Perhaps i should just concede that i have no freedom of speech in my own country.

MR SCEPTIC, if its just a matter of numbers and 90% of people here are white british, so 90% of race crimes must be committed by white people. How do you explain the fact that the 10% of non white british people in this country are accountable for 90% of crime in this country. Wheres the simple number logic now?

I agree. Well said.
But your race does dominate the world, and has since the days of exploring the "New World" and colonialism.
I believe that is why in many cases racism against whites is ignored. There is a lack of pity for whites.

You can ask such a question. Just that if you are racist, then expect to be called racist. You haven't said what your question is, so it's difficult to judge.

Racism does go both ways, but you are factually incorrect - racist attacks by blacks and Asians are treated as such by the police. Why don't we hear more about them? Well, since over 90% of the UK population is White British, you won't be surprised to find that over 90% of racist attacks are carried out by White British. It's a simple matter of numbers.

You're right - you have don't have freedom of speech in this country (it's not just yours! It belongs to me and the black population too), if you wish to express hatred in abusive language.

Also, why does it infringe your freedom of speech if someone calls your remarks racist? It's not like they're stopping you expressing your opinions, just offering their reaction to them.

Unless you want your freedom of speech, but don't want others to have the freedom to comment on your opinions?

Your assertion that the 10% or so of the population who are non-White British commit 90% of the crime is simply not true. It's a lie you just made up. Or am I denying you free speech by pointing that out?

You know, that's a good question.

I once spoke out against a black girl in one of my classes at school. Since I disagreed with her statement, she called me a racist.

It wasn't because I was racist. I told her I didn't dislike her because she was black, I disliked her because she was a not very nice person.

It's the same everywhere. If you're white, and you don't like someone who is colored differently (Black, Asian, Native American, whatever) you're racist. It's like if you disagree with a gay person, you're a homophobe.

And of course, no colored person (whatever shade, as long as it isn't white) is racist. I try and remember that whenever one of the blacks who comes into my place of employment (it's only a couple) call me a cracker. I don't even really know what that means.

Am I racist? No. My best friend is half-black. She is the sweetest person in the world, and I wouldn't care if she were purple or glowed in the dark. Another one of my best friends is a lesbian. It DOESN'T MATTER what color you are. I don't care that you're black or Asian or whatever anymore than I care that I'm white.

I thought England espoused free speech?
Racism is a complex issue but also revolves around power. The reason people take offense is because the role of victim and oppressor is taken by the people exchanging the words. You need to understand what exactly is the most important aspect of your interaction with people of other races. If your intent is good- don't worry. These rules apply to all!

As a white person you are racist. That is what we were told when all police personal had to take sensitivity training. A black person can't be racist because they have no power. We had to sit and listen to this crap fed to us by a black person or lose our jobs. Note blacks can't be racist but they can be bigots.

Its called "Politically Correct" One of the many fine products of the liberal mindset. You are not one of the oppressed therefore you cannot have an opinion unless it is to agree with the oppressed. They call themselves progressive but I think they need to read the definitions before they use that term. Much of the so called progressive actions are what contribute to the decline and fall of western civilization.

When you say "white english" do you mean you are Caucasian from England or do you mean that you are Caucasian English speaking American? (honest question). Of course you are entitle to your opinion and whether you are in England or America. If the questions you want to ask are for seeking knowledge and not just to needle a particular race of people; then nobody will be upset with you. Ask away my friend, ask any question you will.

There is now so much positive discrimination, the white, english, christian or atheist male is being negatively discriminated against. You can't say anything against black people or people of other religions even if the facts are entirely true. To try to end disrimination, pretty much anything we say that includes the word black in it can be used against us in court, and the government has to listen as part of there stopping racism thing
