Yes, I do agree. I Also Think That If He Would Of Lost To The Bengals Last Week He Wouldn't Have Resigned.

The Steelers' Offensive coordinator, Ken Whisenhunt and offensive line coach Russ Grimm are the frontrunners to replace Cower. Howerver, they are also both being talked to by other teams, so the Steelers wanted Cower's decision ASAP so that the team could make a decision on a replacement...

It's not a big deal about Cower's announcement, everyone pretty much knew it was coming. Teams announce firings as soon as their season is over, and it doesn't take away from the playoffs.

Cower's resignation might be talked about during some pregame and halftime shows, but it's not going to take anything away from this weekend's games, any more than other coaches being fired will take anything away from this post-season.

Coaches resigning and coaches being fired is part of football news. And it's not half as distracting as all the talk the last few seasons about Brett Farve and (this season) Tiki Barber retiring...

The owner of the Steelers requested he make a decision by the end of the week, that way the team can promote one of their coveted assistant coaches (probably Russ Grimm, a member of the old Hogs, the offensive line of the Redskins in the '80s).
Besides, everyone knew he was considering leaving and he almost did after last season. No big shock.

Unfortunately, the season was over for him & the Steelers. He did the right thing resigning now...it gives the Rooney's the opportunity to find a good replacement.

Because he is such a great guy, and caoch...he was resinging early so the Steelers can start to interview process and find a replacement for him. With all the head coaching jobs opening up, and very few canidates, the Steelers need to act quick, and get thier replacement guy fast, before they are all gone. He is going to be hard to replace, mighty big shoes to fill.

Post season doesn't affect the Steelers since they're not in it. Sooner the better for the organization, because they can interview and hire someone faster. I don't think Cowher is stealing any spotlight.

i admire the Tigers to win all of it, yet like something of usa, i in my opinion hate the Yankees and the crimson Sox and all of their conceited followers. If the Tigers do not win all of it, i wish every person different than long island or Boston wins. the super element is that it is not likely for the two certainly one of them to prevail in the playoffs, much less win the international series. Mark my words; that is somebody else's 12 months this 12 months.

Who cares. The Steelers are NOT in the playoff's anyway. Besides if the college thing doesnt work out at least he can be hired by some by the Raiders.

No, quiting now allows him to go into the booth, commentate during the playoffs, get paid, and not have a conflict of interest. The question is, which network?
