to live their lives as the opposite sex without losing their jobs? I could be 100% wrong but I thought that they have to live as the other sex for 2 years before getting the surgery but are their jobs secure? If not don't you think they should be? I do I just wanted to know if they're protected from dicrimination

is it possible yes, if you live in the areas that have laws protecting them. most major cities have some sort of protection and the state where i live.

i have been 24/7 as female for 10 years. have been in the same job for 5 years with continous pay raises and a promotion. when i switched jobs it was for better money, hours.

should more places have descriminatiuon policies, yes very much so. people should be judged by how they work not how they look when on a job

unfortunately most of my sisters and brothers are not as lucky as me

No, we're NOT protected any more than any other human.
In fact, here in San Francisco (known as THE gay mecca), 75 % of the transsexuals are unemployed. Half the time, you can't even get an application. That's why you see so many of us standing on the corner.
I was lucky. I just retired as a Commissioner. And I got that job AFTER I started living as a woman.

Usually a transsexual is required to live as the opposite sex for a year before surgery.

Here's a good site that discusses the legalities:
