What I find smells really bad about this story is that the buck stops at the President's office. I expect the CIA to do things like that. They've been doing it for years, and that's not a big problem to me, because they don't have much legislative authority over citizens. If they find something dangerous to security, they can refer it to someone who does and then they can take appropriate action.
The problem is the President is in clear conflict of interest. I suspect the wire-tappings have to do with a lot more than the war on terror. In 20, 30 years, don't be surprised if it comes out the administration set up a spy network on political opponents within the United States to make the setup of the Nixon administration look like a junior detective experiment. All we have to assure us the wire-tappings are legitimate and necessary is the President's word, which he has given after the whole thing was uncovered, and after he had already lied about it existing in the first place.

No. well maybe. yes then. no really maybe sometimes. if they wont to make sure they get some good information on the other candidates so they can blackmail them.then again no they shouldn't unless of course it was me and I wonted to make sure my wife wasn't running around on me. but that would be wrong.but if they know that someone is a terrorist or someone they don't like. and wont to get some dirt on them then yes,for the terrorist surveillance and no on the other.unless they really really feel that they need to do some surveillance but maybe there doing acid and just imagine the threat? so the answer is yes and no and maybe and sometimes. but only if someone truly wont's to.and have a curious nature about them.I hope I made myself clear.I am being silly and facetious actually if I find out there tapping my line. I will get my rifle out., hunt them down and shoot them like a dog.and That's a fact. Its not good to just give away our freedoms for a little bit of security Y'all.they will keep taking them away as long as we let them.

NO. But they do it anyway.
But U.S always has the their own power to resolve any issues without consulting anyone, be it their own country citizen OR the rest of the WORLD. But since US is a Democracy country, they should have the opinion on their people.

Yes, the U.S government has to do what it has to do in order to keep citizens safe. People don't have the right to criticize their actions when they're trying to save their lives. Just take it and run with it, it eventually works out for everyone.

Let me try to explain to you that the US just doesn't pick a person a random to investagate. They only as you call it spy on people who they think may be a threat. If you are able to think of a better way to keep our country safe I am more than happy to hear what you have to say.

I don't think the government should be able to spy on us all, but it is necessary to spy on people who are suspected of things that would put our citizens and country in danger.

No, only check your mail and what you check out from the library, and what your watching on tv and what you say on here. But wire tapping, gee that sounds invasive.
