How many times do I have to say this The world doesn't end with the US or other countries who chose to ignore an Olympic sport and focus on insipid sports with no interest for the rest of the world like American football or baseball. Yahoo! and its services are WORLDWIDE.
For your information. Handball is not the stuff that you know in the US (the ball-to-a-wall stuff) but an Olympic srport with a huge tradition, played in 120 countries or so. See:
www.ihf.info
www.eurohandball.com
As I said before: I'll agree to this section being deleted if American football, baseball, as well as all NBA, NCAA and similar, limited-scope stuff gets deleted first.
Andt now I have to go...Our women's teams have a field day in the handball Eurocups today.

The handball you grew up with in gym class is not the one this section is for. I never heard about it until I moved to Europe and discovered it's a huge professional sport with a large following.

HAndball is a game played almost excluysively in New York City. It's just like raquest ball except there's one wall and you hit the ball with your hands (duh).
SOmetimes you can find people who play with 3 walls but to me that ruins the game.
It's a lot of fun because anyone can play it, unlike squash, which is only for people who can afford to join a squash club.
I don't know why the section is here, maybe to talk about which brands of ball are better, wher eyou can find a court, etc.

That was my first semester Phys. Ed. as a college freshman. Great exercise. Racquetball is much more prevalent.
