For instance, mommy is holding the baby and the baby leans towards her daddy with her arms outstretched. When do babies begin doing this (I know all are different, I'm just asking "in general").

It ranges child to child but generally 7-10 months old. Most babies prefer mom and will reach towards her. At about 2-3 years old there's a shift and dad becomes favorite for a while. But mommy is the one they run to when they are hurt.

My daughter started reaching for other people, as well as objects, at around 4 months. As baby gets older, he/she gets better co-ordination as motor skills develop and baby will grab and reach for things with more accuracy. However, don't panic if you have a child who does this later. Every baby develops differently. Check out www.verybestbaby.com and look at the month scale to find out when a baby can be expected to do some things.

you recognize, they could damage themselves with something, so when you get on your palms and knees and crawl round, placed the cupboard locks on and vacuum really nicely, don'tchronic your self loopy about it. one among my youthful ones placed beads in her nostril, and had to have those bumped off through the physician. yet another baby stood up interior the bathtub, slipped (lacking the non-skid daisies!) and reduce her chin. We had the little ones on the park, and my hubby by coincidence pushed my new little swinger too complicated and he or she fell backward out of the swing. What i'm attempting to say is they are going to get damage, regardless of your ideal efforts, even once you're correct there. raising youthful ones isn't rocket technology, so bypass ahead and basically take an straightforward experience frame of mind. And keep the bandaids stocked and frozen peas interior the freezer to apply as an ice %.. ;-) recognize the guidelines and hours for your renowned urgent Care.

I have this one written down in Logan's baby book, he started doing this at 6 months. I think anywhere from 5-8 months would be pretty typical :)
