This is a difficult question.
Without knowing you and your likes... I cannot give you a definitive answer. Likewise, saying that any of the next-gen consoles could replace another is ludicrous.
The 360 is a good system for hardcore gamers. It's graphics are great, its online game play is supreme and Its selection of games is very wide. In certain aspects this is the best system... however not all.
The wii is an incredibly fun system because of its interactivity. It has many features of a 360 that are slightly downgraded (graphics, shopping). However, these features are supplemented by interactive play with the virtual reality and party games. Also, as far as I have seen, the wii is the only console with an open internet browser.
I haven't found many reasons to purchase a PS3. It is overpriced, It lacks a console selling title (such as Zelda or Halo 3) and it doesn't have any great addons. I own a 360 and a wii and would NOT ever buy my own PS3.
The choice is up to you though. You should buy a console based on your personal likes. Or you could get a wii and 360 and justify it by the fact that it runs you the same as a ps3. I did.

I would say the Xbox 360 is worth buying even though the PS3 and Wii are out. I have one and it has great graphics and runs really well.
But it really depends are what you are looking for in a console. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are alot alike, but Xbox is a tad cheaper. The Wii is a new way of gaming, with the remote-like control. Also it depends on the games you like, so if you like Nintendo games, Wii would probably be best, plus it is the cheapest, but not the best graphics.
If you decide to get an Xbox 360, may i recommend getting an intercooler for it, it really helps the games to run smoother and keeps it from heating up a lot.

Heck yeah, 360 is still considered a next gen system, it just happened to come out earlier than the Wii or PS3. Plus some of the games that game out for all 3 systems, such as Madden 07 or Call of Duty, and Marvel Allience; the Xbox version is way better. Go for it, it has the best games out right now

No. You should get a PS3, it can do everything the Wii can do and more. It even has motion sensors, like the Wii (it is the main controls for the game Warhawk) Theres also Blu-ray disc drive, which normally costs $1,000, thats whyy it costs so much. With memory stick slots on the PS3 makes it easier to transfer videos music & photos onto its 20GB or 60GB hard drive. It also can play PS2 and PS One games, and dvds. The wii cant even play dvds! It has you can also go on the internet (it doesn't cost anything, unlike xbox live) and it even has its own instant messeging program, and the wii doesn't. If you have a PSP your able to hook that up to the PS3 and tranfer files from your PSP to the PS3. You will also be able to use it in more many different things in games (like as the controller and rear view mirror in Formula 1). Plus theres games like Resistance Fall of Man, Madden, and Warhawk (which uses the motion sensors). If there are and glitches or problems i'm sure you will be able to fix them with the system updates, just like the PSP has. It may cost more but that's only cuz you are gettin more and at a better quality.

OH HELL YEAH IT IS!,THE XBOX 360 IS GREAT!.....I WENT OUT TO BUY THE 360 THE DAY IT CAME OUT AND I FEEL THAT THE 360 IS VERY CLOSE TO BEING AS GOOD AS THE PS3...BUT I STILL THINK THAT THE XBOX 360 IS SO MUCH BETTER THOUGH EVEN THOUGH THE NINTENDO Wii DOES ALSO LOOK VERY GOOD AS WELL I STILL WOULD CHOOSE THE 360 OVER THEM BOTH THOUGH

YES. the ps3 is a waste of money and the wii is cool but hard to get. the 360 is completely worth it cause so many people have it, it has great graphics and amazing online play. plus it has the game Gear of War for it which is, in my opinion, the greatest game ever created.

now you can buy PS3 and Wii at gamestop.com!
Order it online for normal price console (599 and 250) with extra hundreds for bundle games and extra controllers.
(it will arrive at jan 17)
so, why buy 360 when you can get Ps3 and wii?

i have a 360 and i just love it i think its a lot better than all the others and gears of war is a really fun game and halo 3 will also be awsome if u like those kind of games

not really .... unless your rich then get the xbox but otherwise the
ps3 will go toe to toe to the 360 by 08 (game wise)
