Do you think that Americas' top HS recruit Jimmy Clausen can do something that Brady Quinn never did, a BOWL VICTORY or better yet a NATIONAL TITLE?

two points about Jimmy:
1. he has great size and a monster arm. He also is a very confident flashy kid.

2. In high school Clausen had to take all his snaps from the shotgun. This leads me to believe he has a hard time reading defenses (i.e. Vince Young and Mike Vick). He also has been surrounded by play makers his entire career. He also struggles against teams that have equal talent as his.

State championship game 175 yds and 1 TD with 4ints. He had 4 ints all season. So no he will not lead them to a National Title, but maybe a bowl game win. Notre Dame is bringing prime talent. USC, Florida and Schools of that sort. Clausen only picked Notre Dame because another QB from a smaller school with better athletic ability had already committed to USC.

it is not a lock the two of those 2 adult adult males would be on the bored whilst the Redskins get around to selecting. After staring at a gaggle of mock drafts some have the Rams taking Clausen/Bradford over Suh. And Cleveland taking whoever the Rams bypass up on. i don't think of which will happen, besides the shown fact that it is something to undergo in techniques. i'm thinking that the Redskins would be leaning greater in the direction of Clausen for the reason that he comes out of a Charlie Weise offenses that's what the Redskins are use to working. yet for the reason that Shanahan likes a huge, reliable arm QB very like Cutler it incredibly might desire to circulate the two way.

Clausen might actually be more overrated than Brady Quinn. He is just the next Ron Powlus. He hasnt played against any competition and is just a product of hype. he will suck like his brothers. And even if he is any good, he will be a freshman with no McKnight or Samardzija and a bad o-line with a worse defense.

Anybody can lead Notre Dame to victory as long as they keep all the service academy's on the schedule and the other cup cake teams they play. Now a bowl game against a real opponent is a different story. It is hard to prepare for big games without playing several during the season. Maybe if they weren't so scared to join the Big 10 they could be prepared for a bowl game like Big 10 teams and SEC teams.

Unfortunately for him, I think he is being set up to fail. In all likelyhood he will have to start as a true freshman. He will get pounded this first year. How he responds afterwards will determine his long term success.

If he is a student of the game, studies film, works hard in practice and doesn't get sucked in to the glitz and glamour of being the starting Notre Dame QB, then I see no reason why he won't be great.

But as Bill Parcells would say, "Put the annointing oils away for now."

Charlie Weis's offenses will always be productive under his pro style setup. The problem is, what good is it having a offense that scores 30 and a defense that gives up 38? The really need to concentrate on the defensive side of the ball more.

If the Irish can get a sound defense, they will be a serious problem.

Well, Rick and Casey brought the Vols to bowl games and won. So, I guess Jimmy can. Look for a great season for the Irish.

If he is like his brothers he will pad the stats on lesser teams and never win against the big ones.
