Manicures/pedicures if she is into that yet (my 7-yr olds love them!). Brushing and styling hair. Baking is always fun. Embroidery or cross-stitch projects. Card-making (rubber stamps and stickers). Board games (like Scrabble or Boggle) or card games (like gin rummy!). Take turns reading a long book out loud. Make some popcorn and watch an old movie. Karaoke with favorite cds (you don't need a karaoke machine, you know the words - - use a salt shaker as a microphone!)
My kids know their rooms better be sparkling clean before they ever utter the evil word "bored"...

Read with her! I used to make up a writing game for my kids. Take a piece of paper and fold it to have as many pieces as there are people there. If just you two fold it in half. Then make up a silly title for a story. Let her start and make up the name. she writes on her piece and you don't look and visa versa at it until you have written your portion. It can make for some fun and silly stories. All 3 of my daughters and my eldest granddaughter learned to read well, write well {try to get a kid to practice writing just to practice their letters!?!" Awe Mom I don't wanna!} My kids and grandkids love it. My youngest daughter is now a professor and the youth junior high education coordinator at her church. She has used this method when trying to make a point or show her students how to get ideas and be creative. If you save the stories for when she is older and date them it will give you something fun to giggle over in later years!
And all it cost you was time and a few pages of paper!

I think you guys should go hiking/horse back riding, or you can go to SIX FLAGS! ^.^ Its so much fun there! It can be just mother and daughter and you can show her how to have a good time. =] If you live near any boardwalks, you might want to go there for a night and show her to all the carnivals, buy her chocolate covered icecream (my favorite) and just hang out and chat.
Or since its winter, you guys can go skiing or snowboarding with any friend =] Rent a place for a night and drink hot cocoa infront of the fireplace, a good time to chat and laugh =] Good luck!! Best of wishes, mimi

You could get them a disposable camera and let them take lots of pics. then get them developed and start a scrap book it's alot of fun and keeps them busy for a while and it's also alot of fun shopping for scrapbook supplies cause they have so many things to choose from!

teach her to knit, crochet, sew, embroider, cross stitch;
and that is just the girly crafts. there is so much to
learn and do and so little time. no one should ever be
bored. i always told my three that bored indicates a
lack of imagination.

Did they send out their thank you notes for Christmas gifts? They can make those, and add stickers, use gel pens, add embellishments, etc.
