Who believes that the world will end December 2012 because the mayan people predicted this a couple thousand years before now and they also predicted World War I and II. This is just an opinion question and yes you should freak out. =)

Nonsense. The Mayan calendar has a big cycle that ends in 2012. For them, this was long enough in the future that they didn't have to deal with it. Mayan civilization ended 600 years ago. If they're so smart why couldn't they even save themselves?

The stuff about WW I and II is double nonsense.

I heard about that in my geography class the other day and I am completley freaked out. It is supposed to be December 31, 2012. It is so scary!!! Even to this day they have the most accurate calendars that are better than all the technology we have today in 2007, omg its 2007, 5 more years. jk But in the end God will have decided every thing. Plus, we are not supposed to be able to predict that. But you gotta admit it is kind of scary!:-0

All those issues approximately 2012 is by technique of the fact the Mayan calendar (surely an overlapping device of three calendars) includes an end at that factor. whilst the Maya have been very progressed in many distinctive aspects, i think of that in the event that they have been so adept at prediction they could in all probability have fared better against the spanish.

I bought a calendar from Barnes and Noble and the last month in it is January of 2008. Will the Earth end then ?

If the Mayan's were so brilliant, why couldn't they see their own end a long long time ago ?

Well, I don't know... before Columbus set sail, the maps all stopped, but Columbus didn't fall off the edge.

So now it's the Mayans who were all-knowing, eh? When I was a kid, it was Nostradamas. If memory serves, the World was supposed to end in 1996. Didn't happen.

Well, I believe the world will end when it decides to end... lol, I know, weird explanation. If it's something that is meant to happen, there is nothing we can do to stop that. For all we know, the world could end tomorrow, so what should we do? Freak out and live in constant fear? Or live each day as if it were more precious than the last? Have an awesome day! :)

No one know when the Earth will actually end other then God and Jesus. If they really know that then why didn't they prevent there own disappearance. The bible says that Jesus will arrive as a thief in the night. That means that know would be expecting it. So if that many people is expecting it then the world may not end on that day.

Any thing is possible... i think it would be the only way of getting out of my outrageous student loan payments. Maybe Sallie Mae is what that girl said about a thief in the night
