You should be able to keep it on for as long as needed. Just keep it ventilated.

I actually use my laptop the most when it's plugged in. My battery life isn't what it used to be anymore so it's plugged in and powered on pretty much all day whether I'm using it or not. I only turn it off before I go to sleep. I've been doing that for over a year now and so far so good!

Good Luck!!

laptops should not be on for a long time .. although it's plugged in.. just because the laptop have a fan that decrease the high tempreture .. and there is no fan on the power supply & that's means your laptop might get an elctrical shock or the processor get slow and may not responding because of high temperature .
i advice you not to keep ur laptop on for above of 24 Hours.

Mine is always on.

I got it a year and half ago. Since then, it's basically been on.

I use to turn it off at nights, now I just leave it on. It's only over heated 3 times. I usually keep it elevated so that it doesn't get warm.

My laptop is tough, pimp of all laptops. :P

depends on the laptop, I would think. I've had mine on for weeks, no problem. Some overheat and can cause fires so be aware of that.

Best case scenario - if you're not using it, shut it off. Saves energy and money!

I've had a Dell Latitude up and running for four years now. You do need to prop it up a little to keep the bottom from getting too hot.
