Check your spelling.

"Playwright" is a noun. It means the person who makes or writes plays. As stated above, Shakespeare was a playwright, but anybody else who writes a play would be considered a playwright also.

Interestingly enough, "playwright" is not a verb. You cannot playwright a play. I think the ending "wright" is a person who makes that thing, like a wheelwright makes wheels, or a woodwright works with making things out of wood.

It is just a coincidence that the word "wright" sounds like the word "write," but this coincidence causes many people to misspell the word "playwright."
