Pink is the new black and Ugly is the new beautiful! The show is a smash hit! ABC is teaming up with Girl's Inc., a non-profit organization, that inspires girls to be strong, smart, and bold, with a campaign called "Be Ugly '07". On January 8th, at a New York event, a special appearance will be made by February's CosmoGIRL, covergirl and star of "Ugly Betty", America Ferrera.
Their "Be Ugly in '07" campaign is a pro-social movement that proves that "Ugly" is the new beautiful and asks America to:
Be Real,
Be Smart,
Be Passionate,
Be Determined,
Be Kind,
Be Honest,
Be True to Yourself,
"Be Ugly" , like Betty in 2007
I think it is marvelous and the show is more true to life then any "reality" series.

Watched it tonight and think its a great show, she is definately going to turn from an Ugly Betty to a Beautiful Betty later on in the series, I can feel it in my water !! ooerrr !! :o)

I love it! It has been nominated for two Golden Globes. I loved it in Spanish when it was called "Betty La Fea and and I love it in English. The humor on the two shows are a bit different though.

It seemed quite O.K.
Sounded like they were using the same/similar incidental music as " Desperate Houswives"
It reminded me a bit of the U.S. series about the girl who works in an office, but is actually dead and a "reaper" ( what was that called?)
I will watch /video it next week to see if it gets going..

I was watching whilst taking the christmas tree down. Needles went everywhere! I think its going to be a bit of a girlie thing to watch, not my cup of tea, but there were some fairly funny moments! I MIGHT just remember to watch next weeks episode!

It was ok. Not the brilliant show I was expecting after all the hype. Mebbe it takes a few episodes. Seems to be a bit similar to that film 'The devil wears Prada' They even used the same song. 'Suddenly I See' - KT Tunstell.

I LOVE IT!! Amanda & Marc are so funny! Too bad Betty sister is going to lose her job selling herbs/diet pills.

For a first episode i thought it was fab.. Normally you have to grow into new shows but i think it hit it of from the start..

It is my guilty secret pleasure. LOL! The wife was sick over the holidays and someone was showing a UB marathon. I bitched & moaned, but wound up liking the show.....shhhh! lol!
