A fan cannot be ejected by the refree but the ref can penalize the Home Team for Unsportsman like conduct. In turn the home can then have security escort the unruly fan out of the building

Yes I believe a fan can be ejected by a ref but not for any words he may yell. I believe he must be involved in a hands on deal or be a risk before he can eject him ... or her! ha ha

Yes, the fans can be ejected for rude conduct. Even restaurants can "Refuse service to any one", so why not the NBA. I think they should reduce the beer sales, that should sober down some of teh rowdy fans.

Only if the fan is interfering with the progression of the game, the referees going in know they're going to take a lot of verbal abuse from a lot of people.

Hell yeah!!! Me and my friends were warned about it during a Lakers vs Clippers game. We were drunk, loud and cussing at the Clippers all night. Dick Bivetta finally came up to us and told us to cool it with the profanity or he will kick us out. Oh well it still didn't stop us from annoying Sam Cassell.
