Bush is rather obviously lacking when it comes to intellectual matters. Most people are just as dumb as he is, easily fooled fools. As long as their little bubble doesn't pop they are happy, and don't stress themselves by thinking about anything besides their little world.

The Christian Right wields enormous political influence. They go to their gatherings, their preacher rants and raves, and they go vote as they are told to. Unlike many other Americans, they are actively urged to vote in a personal section of their lives, which is why they bother to do so, thinking they're doing a divine force's work. Point is, they're fools, and they are a huge part of the reason he got elected twice to the Presidency.

Then we have his daddy, who also wields enormous political influence, his cronies did their part in getting George junior in the office.

There are plenty of other elements, Kerry being a weak opponent, Supreme court justices with questionable motivations in 2000,etc.

The most significant reason he has managed to stay, in my eyes, is FEAR. You don't have to be very clever to play people by using fear against them. That's animal instinct. The days of optimism are sadly gone with this administration. So much for "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." We need to be afraid, terrorists coming,!Nuclear weapons in your backyard, Islamic Nazis coming to kill your little girl!

Bush used fear to win in 2004. Most morons hadn't accepted we got ourselves into a quagmire, wartime presidents just don't lose either.

At first he appears to be a pretty fun guy, someone an average person can relate to, but he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Rest assured;however, he most surely is worried about our future, the evidence being his well-put rhetorical question: "We must ask ourselves, is our children learning?"-George W. Bush

Stupid people can be fooled by a stupid person that is a little smarter than them, not to mention surrounded by some of the brightest political minds in America.

''but the...'' ....people? Yes, it is the people who are dumb. For one thing, everyone believes all the lies and ludicrous explanations put forward by Bush and his administraion concerning 9/11. The fact is, everyone thinks that American's are ''stupid'' and that their goverment is also ''stupid'' everyone think's George W. Bush is stupid.... well, your in for a surprise, because for more than 5 years they've managed to keep all you lot miffed. haha, you people still hav'nt woken up, so if you can play to their tune, then who's the dumb one, them or you? (No offence to the guy who asked the question). I hope a lot of people are reading this: Firstly, the WTC tower's were actually destroyed because of explosive's planted in the building prior to 9/11. Everyone believe's that fire caused these structure's to fail, (if you believe this, then you are already playing to their tune). These building's consisted primarily of glass, concrete and steel, none of which can burn. A fire with a tempreture of between 250-800C is not sufficient the melt structural steel, steel will never get hotter then the tempreture exposed to it, the tempreture required to melt structural steel would be around 1500C, fires based on hydrocarbon, such as kerosene, which is what jet fuel is, cannot, even under the most ideal circumstance's, reach above 800C, kerosene is burned up very quickly, -too quickly for the steel to be heated to this tempreture, and the fact is, most of the fuel each of the planes were carrying was consumed when they hit they're targets, when you saw Flight 175 crash into the South tower, that massive explosion was the fuel being consumed outside the building, that is, the fuel wasn't there to accumulate in the building, only a small amount of fuel made it into each building, and while the fires, openly described as ''raging inferno's'' they may have been for the first couple of minutes, but they began to die down, these fire's were purely fed by the contents of the buildings, i.e. paper, plastic, wooden desk's, etc, the black smoke plumes shows that the fire's were not making much progress, that the fire's were infact oxygen starved, indeed, the buildings were actually smouldering, there was the entry hole created by the plane impacts that show little or no flames, just smoke, hence, they could not possibly have been ''raging inferno's'' The second explanation is known as the ''pancake theory'', in which the collapse was triggered by the floors collapsing down onto the next one, starting a chain reaction, now, in order for a floor to collapse, hundreds of trusse's and thousands of joints supporting those trusse's would have to fail, even if the floors did 'pancake', the core columns in each tower should still be sticking up into the air over 1000ft, this is where the pancake theory falls apart; it does not explane the absence of the core columns. The South tower collapsed in 10 seconds, and the North tower collapsed in 8 seconds, in order to get this rapid speed, thousands of joints on several floors would have to break simultaneously, the only way you can achieve this is with explosive's, placed all over the building at the primary joints, the structure below the strike zone, (the intact structure), would have provided atleast some resistence to the collapse, but instead there was no resistence, infact quite the opposite, the collapse was actually gaining speed, the only way you can achieve this is if the structurally intact floors were blown out of the way by another force, i.e. explosive's, can someone walk through a closed door as easily as one that is open? Obviously no. Now that i have rendered the fire and 'pancake' explanations as ludicrous, please don't tell me that your still sucking upto to the ''official'' account? if so, common sense can't be that common. I could go on for a very long time discusing 9/11, going through the lies, the distortions, getting to the facts, and then joining the dots.

Because Republicans are afraid of change, and would rather keep the same person in office rather than shake things up and make the country better. Just plain old ignorance. There are fools that actually believe he is doing a good job!! Wait until someone they love comes home in a body bag, let's see if they think he's so awesome then. Too many kids are dying!

It's rare to see a Presidency change hands during wartime in the US. Very rare. Also, the people in charge of where voting booths are set up have a method which seems to leave low-income people out to dry. They also don't favor non-christian liberal minded folk. Oh.. and since I watch this happen around here, when churches put the entire congregation on a bus and ferry them to the booth to vote.. you tend to see more conservative right-wing people elected. Oh.. and the democrats have had fairly bad candidates to go against Bush.

I have asked the same thing in a different context, but the answers from the Bush haters is the same. They can't explain it!!!

Yesterday, Pelosi said its time to bet past the partisan politics, today she sends a letter to Bush stating that the Dems oppose a troop surge in Iraq. Partisan politics? I think so. The Dems are LIERS, and they learned from the master"I did not have sex with that woman"!!!

That's a very good point. Unfortunately, there are more dumb people than smart ones in the world. Which should explain how he continues to fool the nation.

Faulty assumptions - You almost got it right at the end.

Bush isn't dumb. The 51% of us who elected him aren't either...

are you starting to get it.... is it coming together...

Don't beat yourself up too much. Lots of us used to be liberal when we were young and misguided. Don't worry. When you get our of college and start working a real job you will slowly begin to see the light.
