I'm not sure if the 'bases' thing applies anymore.
When I was a teenager, kids held hands before they kissed or went any farther.
Now kids pretty much start with the heavy stuff and holding hands is a sign of commitment.
Isn't it ironic... refusal to hold hands is a stronger rejection than a refusal to have sex.
The attitude is, you can have sex with anyone... but to hold hands means you've become a couple.
