Why is it so hard to let go of your first real, true love whether it was male or female?

First love makes such an impression on a person and it makes it that much harder to let go.
My first love and I are still close friends after 30 years now, but our lives just had to take different paths. We still say 'I love you" to each other and we will always remain close in many ways. Sometimes, you do not have to let go, just that you might not be together in body, but always in soul.

you really were in love with the person - i think when you really love someone-they're inside your mind-your heart-you'll always want them-to hold-be close to-to cherish

because you always have a doubt that they still feel the same way.. which is a shame because as theyre not with you or hvnt bin with u since a long time its very clear that they dont like you anymore.. so thaT doubt keeps u in feeling this way about them.. i would advice ny1 to just move on

Because falling in love for the first time is such a deep, emotional experience, something you've never felt before. You're bound to always remember it, just like you usually remember all your other "first time" experiences.

Because it was the 1st and you'll always remember that person BUT don't let it ruin other relationships by always comparing new ones to your 1st. Good Luck!!!!! (It's NEVER easy, but don't let it control your current/future life).

i would say that you are a bit more emotionally envolved with this person, because as you said it was your first tru love, but don't worry it will be with you al your life, bur you will be able to find another person and have other great moments to remember.

you answered your question with your question. its because its your first. and normally its your first time with everything. its the first time your emotions and feelings have been up and then broken up with. its the first time your heart has been broken so everything you do for the first time is often harder and more difficult to get over. it gets easier with time just keep your head up and try to stay busy with your friends to keep your mind off of it.
