This is a very open ended question, so I'll try to cover it as thoroughly as possible....

Just like any race, you're going to find your outliers in terms of what is the mainstream. However, in my experience, Filipino-Americans newly immigrated are much more grounded in traditional Family values. However, they are also very open-minded to less "traditional" values, such as homosexuality and live-in partnerships (heterosexually). They also tend to be taken aback by our open displays of affection in the U.S.. However, you can be certain that none will chastise you publicly for if they follow their own traditional values, they will not make a public stink of what they may find slightly "racy".

Dang. You've figured us out. I and my ilk are out to destroy the traditional American family. Then, when families are destroyed, we'll mobilize the uneducated, undisciplined youth and destroy the government, disband the military, roast and eat the rich, and live in glorious anarchy!!! Or, There will be some measure of equality among the classes in the nation that has the most disparity between them, religious zealots won't be able to make narrow-minded decisions that affect people that aren't based on science, logic, or reason, and, if we are truly the greatest nation in the world, might allow all of its citizens to have health-care, for God's sakes! The thing I think I tire of most is the assumption that, if my politics are different from yours, I'm out do destroy the government. I love this country. How many other places could we have this level of discourse, at all levels? But with this freedom comes the need for some to name call and harass. On both sides. Oh, and as long as I'm on my rant, could we please have a SERIOUS discussion, with actual politicians AND scientists, on legalizing marijuana? Good lord, NORML was expecting it to go legal in '78, and a quarter of the country is legal for medical use. What is going on, here? Thank you.

These Fil-Ams immediately becomes liberal after their feet touches ground on American soil. They immeidately try to sound like americans when they call back home.
They don't even teach their young children the good manners and right conduct of a Filipino. They don't care Filipino tradition. They rear their kids up the American way. They wouldn't ever care racism in America.
It is the 2nd and 3rd generations who are looking for their Filipino heritage.

we filipino are more on traditional values..unlike american people that are so liberal..until now 98% of filipino are so conservative unlike american that so liberated. even we are old enought we still values our parents opinion. Most of the filipino's are so coservative,we dont believe sex before marriage. We prepare to stay at the house and take care of the kids while husband is working..

you mean as compared to filipinos? i think that for filipino-americans in general it's a mix of both liberal and traditional. fil-ams, esp. 1st-2nd gen ones, tend to inherit traditional filipino values from their parents, but at the same time they are exposed to american culture so they are more open-minded when it comes to dating, appearance (i.e., manner of dressing), sex, etc.. things which in the philippines lean towards the conservative.

so the way i see it, fil-ams are more liberal compared to their filipino counterparts, but at the same time they're more traditional/conservative compared to their american peers.

some traditional filipino values are resilience, respect for elders, fear of God, close family ties (including extended, super-extended, etc), modesty, patience, industry, and deep love for the government. (ok, maybe not the last one, heheh).

this is one of their so-called family values: no sex before marriage.

so what do they do? they get married at a very young age (say around 14, 15, or 16) just so they can have sex. not very smart. hehehe...

Those that I know are very well grounded in family values. I believe that much of this is their Catholic upbringing and faith.

However, please note that many Catholics are politically very liberal.

So, I guess the answer is BOTH!
