I'm beautiful enough to be a model. Also I went to this program and we were studying photography and I was their model. They said I have great poses. Do you know any place near St. Petersburg or Tampa, Florida that hires teen models? Not a place that scams you to get your money? Please help!

First of all it dosen't matter how pretty you are, most models are pretty plain to ugly without make-up, secondly look into Ford or Whilimina (sp?) agencies.
Most models even Print models are pretty tall, 5'9" and up.
You also need to have some sort of professional pictures to show of you ...one in a bathing suit, one close up face shot (minimal make-up if any) and at least one in something tasteful and elegant but not over the top.

TIP: there MANY scams out there right now, if you have to pay anything up front it's a scam....most agencies only get payed off your bookings and only take a typical 20% .
As a teen ...NEVER go to any shoot alone, always have a family member present.

The closest modeling hotspot to you is Miami. You can get pretty good commercial work there.

You do not need any professional photos or a portfolio. Take some polaroids and go to a ton of open calls. That's how you get an agency. Once signed, they'll front you the money to start a portfolio and they'll give you the guidance to ensure the photos you include are not total crap.

If you can't get to Miami, then you are out of luck. You can only get steady work in a trendier city.

It depends. If it's your shoot and you've hired the model you pay them. If it's the other way round, they pay you. TF is usually followed by either P or CD, and means either time for prints or time for cd, so in other words instead of monetary payment, you pay them in either prints or a cd. A lot of my friends do this since they're just starting out and don't have the money to pay for professional models. You'll usually see something similar on the likes of ModelMayhem.

you know what? except for some head shots that you can make your own portfolio, if you walk in somewhere and they want you to pay its a scam, if you are legit and they are they will pay you not to walk out the door~
