This always works on parents so maybe your brother will buy it too:
Quit smiling for some time and try to act more depressed day by day. Don't overdramatise though!! Make him believe you have trouble with your friends and need something to pass your time with. If you're able you could even stage a scene of envy: When a kid with a DS walks by look at it depressed and bow your head sadly.
Of course if he gets the gig he'll never trust you again and doing this feels kinda... evil.

First of all, it's already January. Secondly, what's the age difference between you two? Are you like, the annoying little sister? Or older sister? I'm guessing you're younger because he has the money and you don't. Well, start being respectful to your brother, and do things for him. Maybe offer help with chores (or if he has a job, clean his room while he's gone). I bought my DS (not Lite) with my own money, so maybe you should earn the money or save money from yuor birthdays or something.

If he's your little brother beg and tell him you'll give him the money when you have it and dont pay him back unless you want to if he's your big brother well i dont know.

i love these brother games. first you have to be really really nice to him. ihad to suffer buy cooking him small meals to show i would sacrifice my time yup i was a *****. so do what you have to do and your brother has to pay you back maybe with a present. or you dont want to work for it then just steal his money.

you convince him get one, say youll buy it for him w/ his money, buy a warranty(secretly), "accidentally break it" w/o him knowing you bought a warranty, then cash in and have yourself a ds
