When it comes to public benefits its difficult to compare your case with someone else. Every situation is different and it doesn’t serve you any good to say well she gets it, so I should too. Also each public benefit has different eligibility criteria that are specific to an individual person, for example;
SSA - SSDI is based on a person's work history, the work history of a spouse or a parent if the disability was present prior to age 22. People still need to be permanently disabled to be eligible, SSA generally will send people to their own doctors to see of they meet this criteria. For those who do not have a significant work history, then they become eligible for SSI but the same disability criteria applies.
Food Stamps - A lot of things go into determining whether someone is eligible for food stamps, such as additional living expenses, out of pocket medical expenses, utility bills, number of people in the household and household income.
Housing - Depends on what kind of housing, i.e. Section 8, project based housing, or disabled/elderly housing all have different eligibility criteria. Waiting list for each can vary as well.
I would be wary of her intentions, one can get unemployment while on SSDI but it can come back to bite her because employment implies that one is looking for full time work, while receiving SSDI implies that one cannot work at a self-sufficiency level. Also, if someone earns over $900 while on SSDI, they potentially could be considered to be self-sufficient.

It happens, whether its legal or not. I know many people that are "in" the system and there for the long run. It really ruins it for when people who really need the help get told no. I know someone (rolling eyes, wishing I didn't) that is in disabled housing (paying 6 dollars a month rent) getting housing for 300.00, fs for 400.00, a disability check 500.00, a medical card (which she abuses, and walks around like a pharmacy all the time) has all utilities and phone and everything paid for. She gets everything on the first of the month and is flat broke on the 7th. I feel for you. I know this person can work, and is fine. Doctors have said so and the state keeps her on the system to keep her shut up. I would say, contact the local welfare office and alert them that she is attempting to get fired to be able to draw unemployment. They may step in. Good luck. Hope she wises up soon.

When you receive social security benefits, you can work a small amount of hours before it effects your benefits, Welfare benefits are determined upon the amount of household income, and considering it is RSDI they would count that and any earned income, it is SSI benefits that they do not count. I would have to say that she is definitely lying to them... as far as government funded housing.. section 8, you can have a felony conviction, but not a drug or violent crime... the drug convictions would have to be pretty old for them not to consider it. Food stamps are also given on the basis of income amount... There is no doubt the woman is lying and committing fraud to one or more of these agencies. When she gets caught, she will be up to her crack in trouble... and will not only face doing time in jail/prison... but will have to pay all that money that is considered an overpayment back.
When the subsidized housing determines eligibility, the applicant has to fall 150% below the poverty level, and more than half of their income is paying for housing costs. As far as I can tell from the information you have given this woman isn't within that category. Also, when determining elegibility for these programs, welfare, subsidy... how many people that are in the household are factored in as well... if they have earned income, and over the age of 18... their income is counted. If they are a minor receiving social security benefits... those are counted as well.

Whether or not it's legal, it happens.
They take into consideration -- other people in the household as well as their incomes, provided they are over the age of 18 and working.
What I consider amusing -- I work 50 hours a week at a fast food job, more than half of my checks go to housing, my fiance is unemployed, and I couldn't get any help until I got pregnant. Not even medical. Go figure, eh?

Actually she's entitled to SSI and all the other things cause thats only 250.00 a week, not a whole lot to live one which makes her eligable for the help from the state. The unemployment I don't know about tho, cause she might be making to much for that and if she gets fired it's possiable she won't get it. The 5 felonies don't affect any of her help.

She is considered below poverty level and does qualify for assistance, however; I am not sure about the housing part, I thought you could not have felonies and live in government housing.

You can't have felonies and live in government housing and making $1,000 a month working would not allow you to be eligible for SSI. She is breaking the law.
