I think they could but then again im not seeing this matchup happening....BUT just for ur purposes.
I think the Pats would pull out a victory over the Colts if they were to meet in the playoffs...heres my reasons...
1.) The Pats have the second best defense when it comes to giving up points, they hardly do it. They have quietly put together a great D.
2.) Peyton Manning is not a proven winner when it counts, not on any level from UT to the Colts. He has lost big games over and over and he has usually not been impressive in them. Especially against a proven winner in Brady, who is a better QB all around than Peyton.
3.) Bill Belichek is a better coach and will gameplan much better than Tony Dungy. The Pats gameplan will simply be better and perfected.
4.) The Colts D is absolutely pathetic, they have given up 100 yds on the ground to every single team they have played, Maroney and Dillon are not easy to stop and they will run all over this defense, even if it just means controlling the clock and managing the game.
5.) Finally, the Colts are the most overhyped team every single year since like 2001 or so. In reality they are not that good I dont care what there record shows, they are a regular season team and they cannot win in the playoffs, mainly b/c of Peyton Manning. He is not good at controlling the game when there is pressure.

Unfortunately yes. The reason the Patriots usually lose to the Colts during regular season, its because the media always title the game as "Manning vs Brady," so, in my opinion, Brady always tries to show or prove that he is a better QB than Peyton Manning when they play each other, but he isn't, and the Patriots lose to the Colts during regular season. BUT during the playoffs, it's another story. The Patriots all they have to do is run the football and run over the Colts' defense to win. All Brady has to do is "give" not "pass" the football to the RB. - If the Patriots ran the football in their last match up, they would of easily beat the Colts.

Who has the rings? Until this year, Peyton and the Colts could never beat the Patriots either in the regular season or the playoffs. Peyton has better numbers but Brady has the rings. Just goes to show you football is a team sport.

What have you ever carried out for me recently. Manning has been on a roll against Brady the previous couple of video games. He may even win at New England now. Brady have been given his wins with a super Bowl high quality group. Peyton's group became, nicely not so super. For years it is been all approximately what Manning can do to win the sport,yet now they have been given a competent sufficient group to be interior the sport whilst Manning isn't enjoying nicely. those Patriot group's of the previous might have won the super Bowl with Ryan Leaf at QB. are not getting me incorrect he's a competent QB, yet not an incredible one. I doubt the Pat's or the Colt's will make it to the super Bowl this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, however the days of recent England consistently beating the Colt's are over.

Tom Brady. Peyton Manning always starts out strong and doesn't pull through at the end of the season when the Colts need him. Tom Brady gets stronger and better as the season progresses.
