What do you think? I hear it in songs that hip-hop is slowly fading away. I always thought it will last forever...

No

Hip hop is not dead. The mainstream vision of hip-hop may be dying, but that is not to say that hip hop itself is dying. As with all music trends, hip hop is not selling as many records as usual. However, music trends fluctuate. Being a metal-head, I would love to see bands like In Flames or Demiricous on top of the charts. But I know it will not likely happen.

If you are referring to the artistic styles of hip hop, then also NO. Mainstream hip hop probably. You can only sing about girls and cars and money for so long. However, hip hop's soul lies within the underground community.

Look for groups like Swollen Members, Jurassic 5, Dilated Peoples, and even Talib Kwali if you want to hear real, good, heartfelt hip hop again.

I agree with "ninjadonkey2001." Mainstream rap/hip hop is pretty much dead, but the genre as whole isn't. There's still some good, quality hip hop out there for those that bother to look for it, but you definitely won't find it in the mainstream.

Nope, Rap still got the good rappers....Everyone go look up Army of the Pharoahs, A Supergroup formed by the great Vinnie Paz from Jedi Mind Tricks. There is also Apathy, Celph Titled, Outerspace, Chief Knamachi, Esoteric. You people need to hear the underground before you can say rap is dead. Oh ya, and Immortal Technique, Hopsin, Slaugherhouse

Yes. If pee wee football players was allowed in in the nfl no one would watch it. The moment entertainment doesn't have a seperation of talent and non talent there's nothing entertaining and great. Hip hop will never recover and inspiring rappers should go to college because like the saying trap music the music has become a trap to blind you

That's the best news I've heard in awhile! I agree with you. I think it is dying out. If you check Billboard.com you will see that it isn't so inundated with hip-hop as it used to be. I remember in 2005, I couldn't find 2 rock and roll songs in the list!

Hip hop will always show up because all you need is pretty people that can dance, a greedy producer and a DJ that can find obscure music to sample.
