After Quinn's poor Sugar Bowl performance his stock really dropped, it seems like he can't win big games. On the other hand 6"6 JaMarcus Russell played lights out against the Domers, and the Raiders are now considering picking him over Quinn, because of his large frame and great arm strength. My honest opinion is that they either go with Adrian Peterson (should he declare) or JaMarcus Russell if they want a QB.

Oh yeah and BTW, Brian Brohm is worthless. John David Booty is more likely to go number 1 than Brohm.

The thing with Troy Smith is that he's way too small to be drafted in the first round, I won't be surprised if he gets drafted after the third round as a WR. It won't really matter how well he plays against Florida, because in reality he ain't that good. Troy is being protected by the Best O-line in college football and arguably the best group of WRs not to mention two good runningbacks.

You are right, Quinn looked bad against LSU and JaMarcus looked absolutely amazing against ND. BUT......i think Quinn is still the #1 pick for the Raiders IF they want a QB. Few reasons...

1.) Quinn was stifled by a defense that was unlike any he had ever seen, LSU has arguably the best defense in college football and they are so fast and much better athletes than what Quinn had around altogether. Russell was throwing all over a defense that is quite pathetic in reality, so it made him look a lil better.

2.) Quinn's offensive line is not very good, it seems as if their opponents are in the backfield directly on the snap already sometimes...and LSU's front 4 were in his face all night. On the other hand Russell's oline did a tremendous job and even when they broke through he is SOO big and agile that he was able to escape.

As far as who is better right now I think it is JaMarcus Russell for the simple fact that he has had to play his career in the SEC against the toughest defenses in the nation while Quinn is playing Army, Navy, and Air Force every single year and then other weaker opponents for the regular basis. BUT...i think Quinn has more potential to be a franchise QB, he has great raw talent and he is a very smart QB (altho he didnt show it so much in the Sugar Bowl). Just on potential alone I think he has more than Russell thats why he will go before JaMarcus.

In saying that...im not so sure they will draft a QB, I believe strongly they may be leaning towards a back (Adrian Peterson) and maybe giving Walters or Brooks another chance. Or even trading and picking up a QB or some good OLine help, b/c it doesnt matter who is the QB next year whether it be Walters, Brooks, Quinn, or Russell there isnt a single one who could poduce with that offensive line and without any weapons (Moss isnt much of a weapon anymore). They need to implement a new offense and need to get help on the OLine more than anything.

And I definitely agree with you on Brian Brohm, he will never translate into a successful QB in the NFL, he is not that good and he is a product of an offensive scheme. If you didnt notice for you idiots who ramble off Brohms name without even watching the Cardinal games when he didnt play, Hunter Cantwell stepped and controlled that offense just as well as Brohm maybe even better! Brohm is a name, his dad is there, his brother is there, he's a name and he's undeserving of the hype. I lived in LVille last year and im from KY in general, ive seen the kid 1000 times and he is not impressive, again Cantwell is just as good.

And whoever said JaMarcus looks like Vince Young, haha JaMarcus is twice the QB Young is. JaMarcus can actually throw the ball and with some accuracy!!! VY is nothing but a lil bit better Vick, he was second to last in passer rating this year only behind BRUCE GRADKOWSKI and he had the absolute WORST completion % at barely over 50%, JaMarcus looks to pass the ball he only runs when he absolutely has to, and he is a much better passer than VY ever thought about being.

My thought is definitely Russell over Quinn at this point.

However, I think the Raiders should stay away from drafting a QB and draft RB and O Line instead. Sign a solid free agent signal caller that isn't going to turn the ball over and score just a respectable amount of points. Let the defense win some games for us next year and maybe look in the draft of 2008 for a QB pick, like Booty.

I'm a Domer, and I agree with you, his stock is dropping. Brady Quinn will probably enter the NFL ready to play, not one of those rookies who need to learn and develop prior to starting. That may not be true of JaMarcus Russell, but he is still a better fit for the raiders than Quinn. Oakland needs a mobile quarterback. If they intend to find him in the draft, it will probably be Russell or Smith. Quinn would be a nice fit at Detroit, as they have good pass blocking and can give him a nice pocket to work from. The problem there is they already have Kitna, who may be the most underrated starting QB in the league. Cleveland may be where Quinn ends up, but if Troy Smith lights it up on Monday night, he could beat out Quinn (and maybe Russell too).

The problem is when an offensive line is as poor/injury prone as both the Raider's and the Browns' are, it's hard to know if your problem is at QB. Oakland had no running game to speak of, and allowed a TON of sacks, so they made trade their number one overall to another team for 2 or even three talented guards/tackles. The reality is, that as good as Quinn may or may not be, if he falls to third QB in the draft, it will be a team with good pass blocking that picks him up.

I find myself writing this over and over. The best thing that could happen to Brady Quinn would be to fall to the Chiefs, Rams, or the Vikings where he could sit a year or two. He is going to need time and a solid line.

The Raiders have so many holes to fill and this is such a good draft class overall, they should trade for picks and do what Jimmy Johnson did at Dallas. They need QB, HB, TE, C, 2 OG, ROT, DT, DE, OLB, FS. One quarterback is not going to change the luck of the Raiders.

He's just trying to get some more cash. He's seen his draft stock fall, some people have him not even going in the top 5, and he's just trying to make sure that they know he's the real deal. If I was a GM I would not be turned off, because I still know he's a great QB, played in a great system under Charlie Weiss, and will have a very smooth transition into the pros.

Ok seriously, Brady Quinn is overated. With the raiders you never know what they will do. Al Davis is a control freak so when it is all said and done, he may trade down the pic for additional pics. Outside of a quarterback, they need help in a lot of places.

He's not a good fit for Oakland anyway so hopefully it does - they should be better off with the LSU QB JaMarcus Russell.

Id go with Jamarcus Rusell because he reminds me of vince young in strength and size.Even though he is a little reckless with the ball.
