Yeah, they are right. You need to buy and install the game first. I bought it from Wal-Mart for $16. After you install it they give you 30 days to play for free after that they charge $14.99 a month. Or if you don't have a credit card you can get a 60 pre-paid game card. They also have those at Wal-Mart for about $30.

To play WoW you need to buy the CD and install it on your computer, you can probably buy it from a best buy, circut city, game stop etc. near you (you can look it up), and you have to pay monthly. Your going to want quite a bit of disk space on your computer as well because it improves the quality. There is also an expansion coming out sometime this month (Jan 16? I don't know exactly) so you may want to buy that too when it comes out.

I do believe you have to buy the cd and register yourself with the game. My fiance has it and it's definitely a great game to get. If we had another computer in the house I would be playing right beside him. You can get it at walmart, target, etc. Or you might be able to go to World of Warcraft website and see how you can buy it. It may be cheaper online. Good luck to ya.

Before you buy it, you should be able to get a trial account. (Download) Give that a go, then you can just upgrade it if you like it. You do not have to buy a disc, but you still need to pay full price + monthly fees.
