Britain is the best island nation, without a doubt. It had the largest empire in world history (larger than Ghengis). They also have played and still play a significant role in the shaping of the world due to this (Napoleonic wars, Revolutionary war, WWI WWII, current war in Iraq). America, Australia, India, some parts of China, some parts of the Phillipines, most of Africa, Canada, New Zealand, British Guyanna, Hong Kong, most of the Carribean, Gibraltar, Oman, Yemen, Iraq, Israel, Antartica and more - were under British rule and influence at one point. Probably one of the most telling influences Britain has had on today's world is the English language (think England) .Today, it is the international language for business and communicating.
