Many scientists are finding that homosexuality is linked to genetics. I read that it might not be too much longer that parents will be able to know ahead of time whether their child has the "gay" gene. Some people are fearing that if this is achieved, parents will want to abort their children or have some kind of gene therapy to change the orientation of their child. Now, if homosexuality is indeed genetic, that makes it natural. So, if a parent were to somehow change the orientation of their child, wouldn't that make it unnatural?

I know homosexuality is not a disease. I am gay myself. I was referring to the possibility of genetic altering, which I am against by the way.

I wonder the same thing. Actually, as a study, the "gay" gene is somewhat of a mystery and somewhat of a myth.
You cannot REALLY base it upon a gene.
I can say however, that it also does happen to be that it might be somewhat of a hormone rather.
I have read in Psychology books that in some Gay men, they have found that there is a gay gene that forms when the baby is born, making them more feminine in nature than women.
In women however, it is still a mystery as to why they are lesbian or turn out that way.
I believe in the hormones that some women turn out to be lesbian because they are born with more of a Masculine nature. My half sister, I believe is Bi, but she denys it. Only because we have had pretty much the same lifestyles, being molested, etc but there is something that happens with our hormones, that during the course of Maturity, develops with puberty.
Still a work in progress. No one REALLY knows for sure.

I'm sure that there are many parents would like to ensure that there child was not a homosexual if it was found to be genetic. However, it really is not the same as other personality traits which are believed to be genetic (some types of depression and other personality disorders, for instance, are much more common in offspring of those who are affected) because it not simply a disadvantage. However, even if a child's parents do not have anything against homosexuals, they may feel that it is better to have a straight child in a world where so many people still hate homosexuals. As far as being natural, keep in mind that sickle-cell anemia and color blindness are genetic as well, so to simply be against changing what is "natural" may not be the best approach.

Do we have a cure for Alzheimer's or MD or a Real cure for Cancer without invasiveness, or other things that are actually diseases?
I think not.
Therefore since being gay is not a disease I guess there is no cure.
And speaking of the "gay gene" is that levi's or wranglers

There is no "cure" for homosexuality because homosexuality is not a disease.
Care to try again?

blindness or deafness can be genetic too, but if there's a cure available I think it is right and proper that we make it available to all who want it.

Those findings are totally untrue. Curing homosexuality has to do with emotional healing because it comes from some emotional wounds.

scientists can talk till they are blue in the face, they are always trying to find ways to discount God's word. the cure for homosexuality lies within the person, nothing scientists do can change them, only God can change them through their desire to change.
