I dont think i could live with myself, I would have to do my grocery shopping in the middle of the night.

it's a lot better since the EBT cards..nobody knows whether u are using a credit card or what.. FYI IF u were really low income and hungry, u do what u have to do.. It's VERY embarassing especially since people auto assume that using them means u are lazy.. and don't want to work.. what about those of disability or the elderly that need it.. Never say " I will never use food stamps".. that's when u will see just how bad things can get.

My husband left me with 2 kids so I had to get foodstamps for 1 month to help out. I was sooooo embrarassed to use those things. I did the shopping very early in the morning. We cant deny that there is a typical type of lazy person who is on welfare and when it happens to you, its fear of getting looked at as one of them.

Look, if you go on welfare while working on a plan to remove yourself from it (YES ITS POSSIBLE NOT TO ABUSE IT) then go for it. Don't starve yourself or your kids. You can also apply for UNemployment or assisted living.
When I lived w/my deadbeat dad's pregnant girlfriend you better believe we used foodstamps and I didn't care because I was eating while we both looked for work (me illegally since I was 14), she was in college at the time.
Did we stay on it...HELL NO!!! It served its purpose though and I refuse to be ashamed!!!!!!!

it is there for a purpose and if one needs assistance then take advantage of the program. there have been many who needed help and once they were on their feet they got off asap.
