The Following sentence contains two inequalities: Before 1990, households in the United States contained an average of more than 2.1 persons.

part a. Use the variable y to write an inequality for "before 1990."

part b. Use the variable p to write "an average of more than 2.1 person."

(i need help i do not knoe how to do this.) PLEASE HELP

Before 1990, would mean that y < 1990
For example, 1980 is before 1990 and 1980 < 1990

More than 2.1 would mean that p > 2.1

let y = before 1990

y>2.1
During Y (before 1990), there were more than 2.1 persons

let p = average number of persons

p>2.1
The average number of persons in a house is greater than 2.1
