Okay... then what about Genesis Christine or Marianna.

Its not pronounced et, its pronounced A. So it doesn't rhyme with Joan Jett. What about the other two?

My grandma's name was Mariann and I would like to name my baby after her but I like Marianna better.

Yes I do like Joanet. I think it's pretty, classy and elegant. I do agree with the person who suggested that you spell it with the accent on the e because I know I would definitely mispronounce it. I'm not really having any luck coming up with a middle name for it, but here's just a suggestion. You could always use it as a middle name and try a different first name. I also think Mariannia is a beautiful name as well.

As a substitute teacher, I'd try to rhyme it with bonnet when I was taking role in her class. Imagine the laughter your daughter would have to endure. Marianna is cute, though. But I prefer Merribeth.

After you described how to pronounce it, I liked it a lot better. I think it would be a pain in the butt to have to explain the name all the time though. What do you think of spelling it phonetically?
Jonae? J'nae?

Jonae Ramsey has a nice contrast.

Or emphasize the french sound:

Jonae Lisette

Jonae Danielle

I like Jenette but not Joan-a --a as in play is what you meant right? so it would be Joan-ay, which sounds like Joanie with an accent. Marianna is beautiful but I don't like Genisis at all. Christine Marianna is nice.

I'm not a big fan of Joanet because she'll constantly have to explain how to pronounce it -- her whole life.

But I like Marianna and Genesis a lot. Those are very pretty.

it sounds more like a boy name. sorry. i like joan better or joanna. or janette
but if you're gonna go with it anyway i suggest Joanet Renee.

so i'm asumming by the thumbs down i was wrong about how its supposed to be pronounced? is it supposed to be pronounced as joanna? if so i think you should spell it like joanna..it looks cuter that way and people won't be confused.

Marianna is pretty. Marianna Rose?

To go with Joanet? - NOTHING. Have pity on the baby. She will have problems with that name all through her life. You may love it but she will hate it.

Common names are much better than weird ones. If you want a unique name, use it for the middle name.
